Glyn Charles

Glyn Charles taught himself to sail at the age of fourteen and won the British Laser Nationals five years later. He subsequently won championships in Solings, J24s and offshore yachts and competed in the Olympics. He skippered a One Tonner in the Admiral's Cup and was Britain’s representative in the Star class at the Savannah Olympics. He was tragically lost at sea during the Sydney Hobart Race in 1998.
