Karen Gargani's love of the sea began at an early age swimming and snorkelling in Italy. Joining a BSAC club in the UK at 19 led her into a different world, with a family club atmosphere, building skills as a dive buddy, dive leader then instructor and mucking in with boat prep, driving the rib and marshalling dives, all over the UK. After dipping a toe in blue and warm water, a camera seemed an essential addition.
Karen took a year off to work freelance as a dive journalist/photographer for a couple of dive magazines and worked as a dive guide in many parts of the world (yacht racing in the Caribbean also took her fancy). The culmination of these experiences led to a joint venture to create a book which is inspired by some of her amazing experiences and natural interactions with marine life which is so precious today and for the future.
